The End

 Hiroshima-

Lastly, we are visiting the site of Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park. Located on the island of Honshu, Japan it's a memorial dedicated to the victims that lost their lives to the first atomic bomb launched by the U.S. in the efforts to force Japan to surrender. Unfortunately, another atomic bomb was set a couple days later on the city of Nagasaki as Japan was still unwilling to surrender.

The bombing took place on August 6, 1945 and the memorial was build on April 1, 1954. Due to the atomic bomb, people may assume that there is radiation lingering within the city. However, the city of Hiroshima is now flourishing and is perfectly safe to visit.

Images of the memorial park:

Hiroshima was the first city ever to be demolished by an atomic nuclear bomb. It caused major devastation for Japan. Buildings were completely crumbled and some civilians were vaporized upon the bomb being detonated, people were able to see their shadows from where they were hit. Others had their skin heavily burned or even falling off. Those that were near but not hurt entirely from impact suffered underlying effects from the radiation. The second image that is being shown is the Genbaku Dome which was initially the Hiroshima Perfectural Industrial Promotional Hall. Everyone within the building died but it was one of the only buildings still standing after the bombing.

Photos of the destruction:

Street CarShadows on a bridge

The first photo shows a train that was blasted off its tracks and entirely chard. It also shows rubble of all the buildings that have been destroyed into literal dust.

The second photo shows shadows of parapets on the surface of the bridge after the explosion. The shadows are permanently there and they give a clue to where the location of the hypocenter is located.

As soon as the bomb was launched, it was the second to last step of the end of the war. Germany had already surrendered following Hitler's death.

An account of the bombing:
